This single family residence required a new interior organization and a new exterior envelope that would transform the traditional lines of the existing home using economical and sustainable strategies. Materials such as fly-ash concrete were selected for their lower embodied energy and long-term cost-effectiveness. Pre-engineered rain-screen panels with high-recycling content protect the exterior envelope as they help improve the home’s thermal performance.
