About

As architects, we have a unique opportunity – to positively shape the human experience. In every project, we look for ways to expand the architecture principles of form follows function to form follows joy. Without joy, architecture becomes the result of technicians.

In our objective to create and shape experiences, our office was founded in 2008 by a group of architects who under the leadership of Claudio Salazar, have worked in various context and programs around the world. Our experience has provided us with a clear understanding of the opportunities of physical and cultural context, and the different avenues to create value to both our clients and the neighborhoods we serve.

Claudio Salazar, AIA is the founder and principal architect at ROOTSDNA.

Claudio obtained his Bachelor of Design in Architecture at the University of Florida and his Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College where he focused his thesis work on recursive geometry in industrialized customization for urban design interventions.

Since 2000, Claudio has been the designer, project manager and master planner for numerous residential, commercial and mixed-use projects in the United States, Europe, Latin American, Asia and the Middle East. Motivated by a rigorous reexamination of architectural performance, function and form, Claudio has led his ROOTSDNA team during the development of entries for architectural contests, some of which have been awarded first prize. Claudio is currently an adjunct faculty at the School of Architecture at Florida International University where he teaches Graduate Design courses.
