DESIGN TEAM MANAGEMENT
Gregory Sandoval received his Professional Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the University of Miami in 1978. After graduating from UM, Gregory joined a large architectural firm specializing in hospitality and resort design. Within a few years he executed several medium scale hotel projects in South Florida ranging from $22M to $50M. His leadership role from conceptualization to the elaboration of technical drawings on these projects and others led to his becoming a partner principal in the firm called Nichols, Brosch & Sandoval..
During the years at NBS Architects, Gregory was responsible for larger and more complex projects such as the Ritz/Carlton Hotel, Miami Beach($65M), the Hotel Nikko, Atlanta ($65M), and the Loews Resort Hotel, Miami Beach ($75M).
The largest and most ambitious project was the Westin Diplomat & Convention Center in Hollywood, Florida. This project called for a 1000 room 40 story hotel tower, a 500K SF convention center, a 350 unit luxury condominium tower, as well as a retail annex with 100 K SF and 5000 total structured parking spaces. The entire project was designed and built in 3 years for $750M. The project stands as a bright and progressive landmark on the Hollywood Beach skyline today.
Gregory Sandoval has since become a Design Manager at RooTSDNA Architecture to continue the pursuit of architecture that enhances each site through the exacting application of contextually accurate urban design, sharp planning and sound architectural design.
